Air quality and emissions in the Flanders Region

– Over the past few decades, the emission of most pollutants declined and the air quality in Flanders has systematically improved.
Nevertheless, the air pollution has still negative impacts on health and ecosystems. Further actions are needed to reduce the emissions and the concentrations of a number of pollutants, even for substances that amply comply with EU regulations.
These and other conclusions are summarized in the Annual Air Report “Emissions 2000-2016 and air quality in Flanders in 2017”.
