Publication How to deal with flooding
This brochure is published within the framework of the European Interreg IVB NWE project ‘FloodResilienCity’ (FRC) as a preparation to drawing up a flood risk management plans for the Dijle and for the Woluwe. The aim is to ascertain to what extent we can protect urbanised centres along rivers in North-West Europe from floods.

Water4All: enhancing water security through research and innovation
The Flanders Environment Agency (VMM) is working within the Horizon Europe partnership Water4All with 78 partners from 31 countries to improve water security on our planet. SCAPE makes coastal areas resistant to climate change
Coastal landscapes are highly sensitive to the water-related effects of climate change. It is important to investigate how water management can improve the resilience of landscapes. The SCAPE (Shaping Climate change Adaptive PlacEs’) project seeks solutions to this problem. VMM is co-responsible for an innovative redevelopment of the Zwin area.

Topsoil maps out salinization
Many daily activities are inextricably linked to the upper layer of soil. Climate change disturbs the balance between fresh, brackish and salt groundwater. Within this project, VMM studies the relationship between fresh and salt water at the coast and possible ways of improving it.

Publication ECMAScript program RIPARIAS: Invasive alien aquatic and riparian plant species – Best management practice guide
The European LIFE RIPARIAS project focuses on the management and control of different invasive alien aquatic and riparian plants and invasive alien crayfish species. To help field workers recognize these invasive species, the project developed guides with useful visual identification sheets.
